Immigrants in South Carolina are facing unprecedented challenges, with fear and confusion surrounding current immigration policies and tactics. Every day, we receive messages from immigrants desperate for clear information and guidance, as well as from allies eager to help. This growing need demands a robust and centralized communications system to ensure no one is left behind.

South Carolina, often overlooked in national immigrant rights movements, has seen significant growth in its immigrant population over the last 20 years. The time to act is now. By investing in a stronger communications infrastructure, we can meet this moment and provide the support our community urgently needs.

We must fund an SMS service to deliver timely news in Spanish, reaching those who need it most in real-time. Additionally, we need to update our website to create a centralized hub for resources across the state, empowering immigrants and allies alike.

Equally important, we need to meet the community where they are. Funding allows us to host workshops to teach vulnerable members of our community how to identify and combat misinformation—one of the most critical challenges today. These workshops also equip immigrants with knowledge about their rights in the United States, offering practical tools in uncertain times. Your support will also enable us to partner with attorneys and non-profits, creating a united front to meet the urgency of the moment.

Together, we can build a lifeline for South Carolina’s immigrant community, ensuring they have access to the tools, resources, and information they need to thrive.
